Learning to play the violin can be very rewarding. Listening to the beautiful sound that the violin plays is great but when you are the one that makes that beautiful sound then it’s fantastic. Once you make up your mind to learn the violin or have a member of your family learn to play, the next step is to find someone to teach you. This can be quite difficult if you are a left handed person. Because everything that a left handed person does is a mirror image of what a right handed person does, this can be a little difficult for a right handed violinist to teach a left handed person how to play.
This is where the idea of teaching yourself or family member comes in. You don’t only have the option of hiring a teacher to teach you violin, you can buy a course to self teach. Some people don’t like this idea as there is the problem of making yourself sit once or twice a week and learn something new. Others would think this is a great idea as you can teach yourself in your own time when and where you want, as fast or as slow as you want and not have anyone to answer to.
Some of the best musicians are self taught so what does that say for self teaching? Apart from the fact that you can become very good at learning to play the violin in a short space of time, you can also save a heap of money as you only pay the once for your learning material. There are many online lessons to play the violin, you just have to choose the one that suits you and adapt it to your needs being a lefty.
